Who we are

Bucks County Electrical Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. We are an electrical contractor based in High Wycombe, registered in England and Wales (company no. 10388749).

You can reach us by email at buckscountyelectrical@outlook.com or by phone on 07732 700630. For anything about your personal data, email is best, so there is a record of what was asked.

Please put any request about your personal data in writing by email, so that both of us have a record of what was asked and when.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to answer you and to carry out work you ask us to do.

When you use the quote form

• Your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email address
• The postcode and type of the property, and when you need the work done
• What you tell us about the job in your own words
• Any photographs you choose to upload
• Which page you were on and how you arrived (for example, from a Google ad)

When you call or email

• Your contact details and whatever you tell us about the work
• The address of the property, so we can get to it and quote accurately

If we carry out work for you

• Details of the installation, test results and the certificates we issue
• Invoices and payment records

We do not ask for special category data, and we do not knowingly collect information about children. Please do not send us card details by email or through the form.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have asked us for a price, and we cannot give you one without these details.
• To carry out work you have accepted. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract with you.
• To issue certificates and keep records of the work. Our lawful basis is legal obligation, because electrical work must be certified and, where notifiable, notified to building control.
• To keep our accounts. Our lawful basis is legal obligation under tax and company law.

We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only where we have to, and only as much as is needed:

• Our competent person scheme. Notifiable work is registered with our scheme, which notifies the local authority building control. This means the property address is passed on.
• Suppliers who run our systems, such as our website host, email provider and the service that delivers enquiry emails to us. They process data on our instructions only.
• Our accountant, for invoices and accounts.
• Anyone we are legally required to share with, for example HMRC, or a court order.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not become work: kept while we follow them up and then deleted.
• Customer records, certificates and test results: kept for as long as they are useful for the safety of the installation. Certificates matter years later, for a future EICR, an insurer or a house sale.
• Invoices and accounting records: kept for six years, as tax law requires.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set advertising cookies, and it does not track you across other websites. The site remembers nothing about you between visits.

We plan to use Google Analytics to understand which pages help people find us, and Google Ads to measure whether adverts lead to enquiries. When that is switched on, this page will be updated and you will be asked for your consent first.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete data we no longer have a reason to keep
• restrict or object to how we use it
• send a copy to you or another provider in a portable format

Email buckscountyelectrical@outlook.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. We may need to keep certificates and accounting records even after a deletion request, because the law requires it, and we will tell you if that applies.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
